We are heartbroken by the tragic events that took place last night at the Old West End Festival. Many members of our community, including volunteers, board members, and supporters, live in the neighborhood and look forward to this festival every year. It has long been a celebration of community, culture, and connection, and a place where people have felt safe gathering with friends and neighbors.

It is deeply troubling that incidents like this continue to occur with increasing frequency across our nation. Our thoughts are with everyone who was injured, traumatized, or otherwise affected by this violence. We wish those who were hurt a full and speedy recovery.

We care deeply about the Old West End neighborhood and the people who make it such a special place. During this difficult time, we stand with the community, our neighbors, and all those impacted by these events. We remain grateful for the first responders, medical personnel, and community members who stepped up to help in a moment of crisis.

Happy Pride Month!

Pride is a time to celebrate our community, our resilience, and the progress we've made together. It's a chance to come together, support one another, and be proud of who we are.

But Pride has always been more than a celebration. As the saying goes, the first Pride was a riot. It was born from people standing up, speaking out, and demanding dignity, equality, and the right to exist.

That spirit is just as important today.
Right now, HB 249 has passed the Ohio House and is sitting in the Senate Judiciary Committee. The fight against this bill isn't over, and now is the time to make our voices heard.

This bill targets transgender and non-binary people, drag performers, and our community as a whole. We need to remind lawmakers that drag is not a crime, transgender people exist, and everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and equality under the law.

As we celebrate Pride this month, let's also take action. Contact your State Senator and urge them to oppose HB 249 TODAY.

Thank you so much to Holiday with Heart Charity Gayla for this generous grant of $3,710.91 to support the purchase of a new freezer for Equality Toledo’s No Barriers Community Pantry!

This funding will have a direct impact on our ability to provide fresh and frozen food to thousands of households throughout our region. Access to reliable cold storage means we can safely store and distribute more nutritious food while continuing to offer a welcoming, affirming space for LGBTQ+ community members and anyone facing food insecurity.

We are incredibly grateful for your investment in our mission and for helping us ensure that no one in our community has to choose between being their authentic self and having access to basic needs. Partnerships like yours make this work possible.

Good afternoon!

We will be closed on Saturday for the holiday weekend. As a result, we have pushed our REOPEN date to Wednesday (5/27)

We will be taking the extra time to finish unpacking and restocking our shelves to ensure a smooth transition to our new office.

As a reminder, our wednesday hours are 6:00-8:00pm.

If you can lift boxes, organize snacks, assemble shelves, or simply provide emotional support and iced coffee energy, PLEASE come by.
