We are a member-driven center that provides unique perspectives, learning opportunities, & networking Presenters are experts in their subject area.

Our members will tell you the greatest benefits of membership are the forums, networking opportunities and affinity groups. Our forums are monthly educational sessions on a variety of member-suggested topics focused on family business issues. Most are member-only events; however three times a year we invite the public which increases networking opportunities. Affinity Groups are smaller, confidential roundtable discussion groups with trusted peers. Groups typically meet once a month and the center provides a professional moderator and covers the costs of the meals.

Join the UToledo Family Business Center on November 3 as we celebrate Why Toledo through personal stories from those who have chosen to live, lead and invest here, including Pat Bowe, former President & CEO of The Andersons, and others from our community. We’ll hear what brought them here, what made them stay and why they continue to believe in our region.

Center Director Angie Jones was glad to join friends of the Center Kurstyn Loeffler, MBA, Jeremy C. Park and Dr. Clint Longenecker for Creating IMPACT: A Culture That Gives Back at the IMPACT: Give Back & Learn Why event on Friday.

The conversation explored how businesses can build giving back into their culture—not just through philanthropy, but through their time, people, relationships, leadership and community involvement.

Angie shared the perspective we see every day through the Family Business Center: family and privately held businesses are deeply rooted in their communities, and so many are quietly doing the work to make them stronger.

What a day! We couldn’t have asked for better weather—or a better turnout—for the 2026 UToledo Family Business Center Golf Outing at Stone Oak Country Club!

More than 130 golfers joined us for a great day of golf, connection, and plenty of fun. Thanks to the generosity of our golfers, sponsors, donors, and supporters, we raised nearly $25,000 to support student scholarships and student travel opportunities of PSE and APO!

A special thank you to our Premier Sponsor, Designetics, Inc., for their continued support and for helping make this event possible.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in making this year’s outing such a success. Our Family Business Center community continues to show up in a big way, and we couldn’t do it without you.
