The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 35, has been a partner with Oregon, Ohio’s long standing Memorial Day Observance Ceremony. This year’s 250th Anniversary of our Nation, Ceremony was special. Former Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor Recipient Edward C. Byers, Jr. delivered the keynote address. Our Veterans turned out in force to support this event.

The Oregon Area Memorial Day Ceremony is Monday, May 25th at 11 am., at Clay High’s Memorial Stadium. Medal of Honor Recipient Edward C. Byers whose father graduated from Clay High School will deliver the keynote address. Master Chief Byers earned the distinction of being a Navy SEAL, serving on the elite SEAL Team 6. Prior to becoming a SEAL, Master Chief Byers was a Corpsman for Gulf Co 2/2 Marines. Everyone is invited! Veterans please wear your Veteran’s cap! Be with us as we HONOR those have given their lives serving America. 🇺🇸 Special thanks to our Greater Toledo Vietnam Vets for helping make this event happen
