But knows sit, down, shake and sit pretty

But has perfected a trick that takes most experienced dog owners a lot of time to teach

But has 3+ years of memories likely knowing what love feels like

But refuses to go potty unless she’s outside
“Found as a stray”
And is rotting away in a kennel 💔

Athena deserves better. Someone, somewhere loved her once. She’s trying so hard to be that pet that was loved, trained and cherished.
But she’s slowly giving up hope that she can have a second chance.

That’s right… ANOTHER Rico post.
Because he doesn’t understand.
•He doesn’t understand why he’s still at the shelter
•He doesn’t understand why someone gave him up in the first place
•He doesn’t understand why his fosters haven’t worked out
•He doesn’t understand why no one chooses him

And he DESERVES the world.
He deserves someone that chooses him every time. That will never give up on him.

He doesn’t need much
•A quiet space
•Some toys
•A couch
•Snacks never hurt

He’s such an easy going, fun loving potato. Everyone that’s met him instantly falls in love😩

Talk about a transformation 😍🤩🥹
We talk a lot about how shelters are not meant to be long term placements for dogs.
THIS is a shining example of what shelters are meant for.
Rebel was found as a stray, clearly in need of some TLC. He was brought to Lucas County Canine Care & Control where he was vetted, housed safely, and fed to a healthy weight. Then once he was rehabilitated, he was placed up for adoption 🩶
Stop by our enrichment event tonight from 5-7 pm for a chance to meet Mr Rebel❤️‍🩹

We will be closed to the public on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 to accommodate a City of Toledo water system repair.

LC4 will have staff on site to care for dogs and officers will continue to provide services in the field. If an emergency that requires assistance from LC4 arises, please call 419-213-2800.
Because of the closure, LC4 will extend its three-day stray hold period by one day for to this closure.

LC4 will resume normal hours on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

For enrichment night tomorrow, we could specifically use SOFT TREATS 👇🏼
