The 77th Annual AIA Toledo High School Design Competition kicks off January 6, 2027!

We’re excited to welcome both returning and new schools to this STEAM‑aligned program. The HSDC encourages creativity, problem‑solving, and design exploration, and offers the chance to earn prizes and college scholarships.

For those of you heading out to OWE Festival this Saturday (9-5pm), our joint booth with Toledo Design Collective is set up on Parkwood, near the Glass Pavilion & Children’s Activities area. Youth of all ages can build with our large cardboard blocks and Design a Doghouse for Libbey. Stop by, get creative, and learn about our High School Design Competition!

The American Institute of Architects has launched a national celebration of K–12 student design work, highlighting outstanding projects from across the country, including work from AIA Toledo’s 2025 High School Design Competition finalist and scholarship winner. They have created a People’s Choice Award with online voting for all selected student work.

We are excited to see our student's work and Aurora Project, Inc. recognized on a national stage and welcome you to join us in celebrating this achievement by voting for the People’s Choice Award. Cast your vote once per day for your favorite project. The design with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award and a $1,000 prize!

Voting is open now through June 13.

What an incredible night at The Mez celebrating the 76th Annual AIA Toledo High School Design Competition. Design professionals, educators, mentors, guests, and our sponsors came together to celebrate the creativity and hard work of this year’s students.
