In case you've ever wondered, what are the qualifications to become a host family?
-First, host families come in all different shapes and sizes, they can be single people, married people, people with small kids or big Kids, people with no kids. They can be young (as long as their stable) and old (asks long as their not suffering from illness).
-Second, host families will need to do our online background check and must not have any criminal history (minor offenses over 10 years old may be considered on also case by case basis).
-Third, families must not be receiving needs based government assistance.
-Families provide meals and transportation but students do have their own spending money for school supplies, clothes, sports, entertainment. Etc.
-Fourth, must be able to provide the student with their own bed (they can share a room with one other child within 5 years of their age and the same s*x)
-last but not least, probably the most important thing, is that host families should be loving and supportive and willing to treat the student like your own son or daughter.
