Building momentum for an unforgettable year! 💎✨

The Toledo Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Incorporated officially kicked off our program year with our first business meeting at the Anthem Center in downtown Toledo. We spent the afternoon aligning on key chapter business, mapping out an incredible lineup of upcoming events, and diving headfirst into planning for our momentous Centennial Celebration next year!

A big, heartfelt thank you to our wonderful hosts, GF Patrice McClellan and GF Monica McCain, for providing such a great space and warm hospitality.

Sun, strategy, and sisterhood! ☀️✨

The Toledo Chapter of The Girl Friends®, Incorporated recently gathered for our J.E.W.E.L.S. Executive Retreat to prepare for an incredible 2026–2027 chapter year.
We spent time reflecting on our accomplishments from the past year, hearing thorough reports from all of our dedicated officers and committee leaders, and mapping out exciting strategic plans to share with the full chapter. Between productivity and vision-casting, we enjoyed a delicious lunch poolside, wonderful conversations, and the warmth of a beautiful, sunny day.

A special, heartfelt thank you to GF Tanya for opening her lovely home and hosting us for such a memorable afternoon! 💚💎 Your hospitality made the day extra special.

We had an unforgettable time at the Girl Friends, Inc. 91st National Conclave in Scottsdale, Arizona! Hosted beautifully by the New Jersey Chapter, the weekend blended meaningful sisterhood with plenty of fun. From the lively Jersey Boardwalk-themed welcome, to the Western “Boots & Bling” night (complete with a Beyoncé impersonator!), to the elegant all-white Blossoms, Baubles & Bags luncheon and stunning Black-Tie Met Gala— every moment was unforgettable.

A special shoutout to our Toledo Chapter members who represented us so well 💛👏:

An inside look into our memorable anniversary weekend! 💚💛

We had an unforgettable anniversary weekend filled with sisterhood, celebration, and community. Our brunch at Brandywine Country Club brought together girlfriends from Cincinnati, Detroit, Columbus, and our own Toledo chapter, along with our National President GF Beth Espy and other national officers. We enjoyed a wonderful brunch and mimosa bar, followed by a powerful panel discussion on the challenges Black women face and how we can support one another. Each table joined in with thoughtful reflections, and displays of our history added a meaningful touch to the event.
That evening, we returned for a glamorous gala where a full ballroom of guests came out to celebrate our legacy. With great food, lively music, and a special presentation honoring our past, present, and future, the night was truly magical. We recognized our Emeriti members and celebrated each current Girl Friend, sparkling beautifully in gold dresses, as we danced and enjoyed a night to remember. Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and helped make this weekend so special. We appreciate you! 💛💚

Seafood, sunshine, and sisterhood; what more could we ask for? 🌊✨

We had the best time catching up at Real Seafood Company on 22 Main St. for our monthly chapter meeting! Between the waterfront views and the non-stop laughter, it was one of those afternoons that reminds you why this sisterhood is so special.
Huge thanks to our amazing hostesses, GF Yolanda Gwinn-Harelston and GF Faith Hairston, for making everything feel so seamless. And a quick shoutout to the venue; that seafood was 10/10!

We definitely got down to business—planning some big things for the future, sharing updates, and officially naming our newest scholarship candidate —but it never felt like "work." Having our Emeriti members there just added that extra layer of warmth and wisdom that makes our chapter feel like home.

If you weren't there, you were definitely missed!💖👯‍♀️
