Are we looking for you?

RT is publishing a Request for Applications for Service Providers for the Toledo Neighborhood Capacity Building Institute (TNCBI) Cohort 3, sponsored by the City of Toledo Department of Housing and Community Development.

TNCBI, administered by Reinvest Toledo, is seeking qualified service providers to deliver targeted organizational development support to Cohort 3 participants.

As part of TNCBI’s capacity-building model, participating organizations will receive an incentive to engage professional service providers to strengthen core areas of organizational effectiveness. Selected providers will work directly with nonprofit and community-based organizations to deliver structured, short-term technical assistance aligned with identified organizational needs.

Reinvest Toledo is specifically seeking providers with demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas:

Program Design
Fund Development Strategies
Strategic Planning

Providers may apply for one or multiple service areas but must clearly demonstrate competency and experience in each selected category.

We would greatly appreciate your consideration to apply and also your help in distributing this opportunity throughout your networks. Please feel free to:

Share it on your website
Post it to your social media platforms
Forward it directly to individuals or organizations you believe would be a great fit.

Your support helps us expand the reach of this initiative and connect neighborhood organizations with high-quality resources that can strengthen their long-term impact.

🗳️ Voting in Ohio: What You Need to Know

The Ohio Primary Election is Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

What is a primary election? A primary election is when voters choose which candidate will represent a political party in the general election. In Ohio, voters choose a party ballot (Democratic or Republican) and vote for that party’s candidates. Some ballots may also include local or state issues.

Voting by mail in Ohio takes 2 steps:

STEP 1: Request your absentee ballot.

Request an absentee ballot application by printing one or calling your county board of elections to have one mailed to you. Your completed application (request) must be received by 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28, 2026.

STEP 2: Return your completed absentee ballot.

After you receive your ballot and vote, return it to your county board of elections by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. You can return it by mail or by dropping it off at your county board of elections or secure drop box. If returned by mail, it must be received by 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Find early voting locations/drop boxes: https://www.ohiosos.gov/directories/early-voting-locations

Know your ballot.

Before you vote, take a few minutes to review the candidates and issues that will appear on your ballot based on your registered address. Being informed helps you vote with confidence.

Voter ID Requirements: Ohio law requires voters to present a valid, unexpired photo ID that includes their name and photograph. Examples of acceptable IDs include Ohio driver licenses, state of Ohio ID cards, U.S. passports, and military IDs. https://www.ohiosos.gov/elections/voter-ID-requirements

We’re looking back to last year at the very first class of Reinvest Toledo’s Raised Voices Cohort. We knew that we already had some amazing leaders in our community who just needed the right connections and information to turn themselves into real forces of change in their neighborhoods. The cohort was separated into two parts: in-class learning through discussion and guest speakers, followed by a practical application of a project in their communities. After months of meeting in person and online to attend trainings, lectures, and workshops led by subject matter experts, the neighborhoods of Englewood, Ironwood, North Toledo, and BUMA saw our Cohort implement what they learned in projects and programs directly benefitting area residents.

Tina Hall, Hughes, and Alridge worked on the redevelopment of the Doehler-Jarvis site in Englewood as a sustainable, mixed-use community that fosters economic development, green infrastructure, and civic engagement.

Vyas and Mathis worked on the next season of The Power Tour titled “The Evolution of Leadership” set to tour in 2026. In October, they hosted the fundraiser “Evolve”, in support of The Power Tour’s 2026 season, where guests enjoyed refreshments and fun activities like a photo booth and panel discussion.

Reggie Williams and Franklin worked on a project titled “Here we Go Again” that addresses the root causes of housing instability in LMI communities.
🙌
In addition to their projects, Raised Voices Advocates attended the Community Development Corporation Annual Conference over the summer where they presented a workshop titled “Building Power from the Ground - Up”, and spoke about their experience in the cohort, the project they worked on, and how it increased their leadership skills.
