The Boo Bakery Trail Tour has officially begun!

how it works:
~grab a passport from any of the participating stands
~make your way around the trail, picking up a sticker or getting a stamp, no purchase is necessary :)
~each stop will have a separate jar out specifically for donations. this part is completely optional! every donation put inside goes straight to Gracie and her family. make sure you are putting the donations inside the jar and not the cash box
~10 stops all marked with a stamp or sticker gets you an entry to the giveaway. your passport can be turned into any of the stands.
anything after 10 stops is an extra entry

This is going to be soooooo much fun!

More than 20 cottage bakers in Northwest Ohio are teaming up for a good cause. Support local businesses, help a local family, and explore this fall.

Connecting People & Places will be a stop on The Boo Bakery Trail Tour!

The Boo Bakery Trail Tour kicks off in TEN DAYS!

Who is excited? I am excited.

If you missed the original announcement, here's a quick rundown of what's up:

Twenty-one local bakers have teamed up to host a unique, fun challenge for the entire month of October.

Starting Oct. 1, pamphlets will be available at every participating stand along with a stamp or sticker to mark off your visit to that location. Once you have a passport, use it to guide yourself, your family, your friends, EVERYONE around Northwest Ohio for some really yummy treats.

Also at each stand you will find a donation jar that you can toss spare change or big bills or whatever into.

All the donations collected at every stand will be donated to one very special, deserving local family to help as they navigate their 7-year-old daughter's open-heart surgery this fall.

Gracie, our new bestie, is brave, smart, funny, and strong. Her favorite color is rainbow and her favorite animal is a dinosaur. My kind of kid.
Gracie is preparing for the journey ahead and the fundraising effort will help ensure her family can focus on health, healing, and relaxation leading up to, during, and after surgery.

If you participate in the bakery stand tour and collect at least 10 stamps, you can turn in your passport by the end of the month and it will be entered into a drawing for a super serious prize basket.

We're talking treats, merch, accessories, cozy fall stuff for you and your home. Another epic prize.

It's going to be an adventure.
It's going to be fun.
It's an excuse to go explore.
It's a way to try new things.

A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO ALL OF OUR DSP'S at Connecting People&Places
for all the hard work, joy, and humanity that you show daily towards each of our friends we serve.🥳🥳🥳

ADSP (Direct Support Professional) position is so VERY downplayed, Meanwhile I'm holding your son's hand as he cries on my shoulder because his family doesn't come visit him.. I'm caring for your uncle's personal needs because he is incapable of doing it himself... I'm holding your son's hand and using de-escalation techniques to calm him after becoming physically aggressive towards me. I take your sister out to eat because sometimes pizza tastes better in the restaurant than at home. We feed, we bathe, we toilet, we comfort, we clean, we cook, we shop, go to doctor appointments, we chart, we do goals, pass meds, bathe, deal with seizures, diabetes, autism, eating disorders, deal with the mute, we wipe noses, clean up drool and vomit, cheer over every achievement big and small, go on outings and often defend our clients feelings because someone in the community makes rude comments or acts like their disability is contagious. We develop personal relationships with precious people we would have never known unless they needed us. They become part of our lives and family. We become part of theirs. It’s so hard to be depended on by one person, LET ALONE multiple people at once. It's a demanding & emotional job. But I do it, I'm not ashamed of doing it & I DO IT WELL!! We also deal with some pretty serious situations and it can be very mentally, physically, emotionally draining but I seriously LOVE my Job as a DSP
