The staff at TLCHB are devastated by the actions taken by young people in our community over the weekend. We KNOW that there are programs and people who really, really care trying to make the community a better place.

Toledo is strong and resilient. Two bad actors can't dissipate the work that has been done to reduce violence here in a Toledo. Our young people deserve structure and safety.

If you have been affected in any way by this terrible event, we encourage you to attend a session at Collingwood Presbyterian Church for help.

The Old West End Association is offering neighborhood support sessions in response to the tragic events that occurred during the Old West End Festival this weekend.

When: Monday, June 8
12:00–1:00 PM
6:00–7:00 PM
Where: Collingwood Presbyterian Church

Shaiem Hampton of Shaiem Behavioral Health will facilitate the sessions and will provide information, support, and guidance for residents, volunteers, festival attendees, and others affected.

Licensed counselors will also be available following each session to offer immediate support and help connect individuals with additional resources.

All who have been impacted are welcome.

Protecting our aging neighbors is vital to ending housing insecurity in Lucas County. Housing instability and elder abuse are deeply linked and vulnerable older adults face high risks of homelessness.

The upcoming conference, "Reimagining Elder Abuse at Home and in Our Community," equips our network with critical prevention tools. As CoC members, our attendance strengthens the local safety net.

Why This Matters for CoC Members

-Spotting early trauma signs.
-Preventing sudden shelter entries.
-Connecting housing with protection.
-Earning Ohio CSWMFT CEUs.
-Learning from experts.

To all the mothers today, Happy Mother’s Day. 🌷

Motherhood is a beautiful, deeply rewarding journey, but it is also incredibly hard. For mothers navigating homelessness or housing insecurity, that journey carries a weight no parent should ever have to bear.

Today, we want to take a moment to honor the fierce love, resilience, and unmatched strength of moms who are fighting every single day to provide safety, comfort, and hope for their children, even in the face of overwhelming obstacles. You are seen, you are valued, and your love is the anchor your family needs. At the Home for Everyone Continuum of Care, we remain dedicated to our mission because every mother and every family deserves a safe place to call home.

If you are looking for a completely free and peaceful way to spend this afternoon or early evening to celebrate here in Lucas County, take a beautiful, quiet stroll through the Toledo Botanical Garden or head over to Glass City Metropark to enjoy the fresh air and let the kids play. Both offer a wonderful, cost-free space to breathe, connect, and just be together.

Sending love and solidarity to all moms today. 🤍

📣 Toledo’s next generation: We can’t end homelessness without you.

We see the problem every day in Lucas County. The tent encampments, the folks on benches. It’s devastating. But the standard response—the "old way" of doing things—isn't moving the needle fast enough.

We don't just need more volunteers; we need your innovation.

The fight to make homelessness rare, brief, and non-recurring needs the energy, the fresh perspectives, and the tech skills of OUR generation. The Lucas County CoC is officially inviting young adults to the table to build a smarter, more equitable system.

You aren’t just the future; you are the 'Right Now.'

Join us at the Annual Membership Recruitment Meeting. See how your skills—whether in social media advocacy, data analysis, or community organizing—can revolutionize how we solve this problem in Toledo.

🗓 When: May 21, 2026
