A Heart to Serve | 1 Peter 4:7-12
This sermon was such a beautiful reminder of what it truly means to serve others and how our hearts and minds play such an important role in the way we serve. ❤️
We talked about the reasons we sometimes serve poorly and the reasons we serve well.
📖 1 Peter 4:7 reminds us to be of sound judgment and sober spirit for the purpose of prayer.
✨ Sound Judgment — How we THINK.✨ Sober Spirit — How we FEEL.✨ Purpose of Prayer — What we DO.
💭 What we THINK impacts what we FEEL. What we FEEL impacts what we DO. And what we DO impacts what we THINK.
It’s a continuous cycle, and it reminds us just how important it is to keep our hearts and minds focused on God.
📖 John 13:5 reminds us of one of the most beautiful examples of serving others. Jesus humbled Himself and washed His disciples’ feet.
He didn’t just teach us to love and serve others. He showed us how. ❤️
Serving isn’t always about doing something big. Sometimes it’s the smallest acts of kindness, helping someone in need, showing compassion, offering encouragement, or simply being there for someone.
When we serve with a humble heart, we reflect the love of Jesus.
❤️ May we never become too busy, too prideful, or too distracted to kneel down and wash someone else’s feet.
Because serving others isn’t about being seen. It’s about showing others JESUS through us. ✝️
Less of me, more of Him. ❤️
