What a great evening celebrating Airborne History with the Cadets of the Stephens County High School JROTC, the Currahee Warrior Battalion.

The 17th Annual Cadets Ball honored American Airborne forces, including the four airborne regiments that trained here at Camp Toccoa.

A great evening of fellowship, laughs and reflection on the hard work of these amazing young men and women.

Victory! Today we honor the 81st anniversary of VE Day. Although fighting in the Pacific was still raging, on this day 81 years ago the Allies formally accepted the unconditional surrender of N**i Germany. Lest we forget the service, sacrifice and valiant efforts of those who fought to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.

Camp Toccoa at Currahee Magic! Our new friends RJ, Steve and John came into town from the New Orleans area before heading on the here in a few days. Although the tour did not stop here in Toccoa for this iteration, some of come to visit where it all started. The group linked up with one of our volunteer historians and went on the extended Camp Toccoa at Currahee tour!

From downtown at the Train Station and along Doyle Street, to the top of Currahee. They also visited the Toccoa-Stephens County Airport to see where some of the men took off from to earn their wings here. They also toured the Camp Toccoa at Currahee Museum and historical site and walked in the footsteps of the Toccoa Men.

Thank you to X-Factor, Ping’s Grill, Wesley’s on Doyle and Sage Street Aleworks for supporting the preservation of the legacy of Easy Company, the Toccoa Men and all of our Greatest Generation as a whole.

The legacy continues here at Camp Toccoa at Currahee!

We had two amazing donations to our Musuem and Historical Site from the family of Toccoa Man Charles Eddie Rhinehart. Staff Sgt. Rhinehart’s uniform, Bible, journals, photos and other priceless artifacts will soon be proudly on display at Camp Toccoa. Thank you Cindy and David for your gracious donation.

Thanks to President Donald J. Trump for honoring the legacy of those who have become known as our Greatest Generation like Staff Sgt. Rhinehart.

We also received a donation of a preserved piece of roofing from the village of Lambourn graciously donated by Lord and Lady Garvagh. This historic piece of infrastructure was a part of a 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment billet used by the men during the war.

Thank you to all those who made this day special for all those in attendance of the Toccoa Tours Easy Company Heritage Weekend.
