Our mission is to build a community of belonging, safety, discovery, spiritual growth, and unconditional love through summer camp, environmental education, and retreat programming. The Mikell Camp and Conference Center was established in 1941 by the Right Reverend Henry Judah Mikell, Bishop of Atlanta, as a setting for Christian education and recreation for young people. Over the years, it has dev

eloped into a year-round conference center serving people of all ages in the Diocese and its parishes, as well as other groups whose purposes complement our mission.

THANK YOU to the Freedom School Scholars of for helping us to close out our summer season! We explored in the creek, partied in the pool, learned in the nature center, and celebrated a fantastic summer well spent!

We may be wrapping up and heading back to school but there are so many ways to visit Mikell throughout the year! Visit the Linktree in our bio to see registrations for upcoming events, including an additional Guest Camp session in December and two upcoming sessions of Allan Folk School!

And speaking of school... Mikell offers year round programming for traditional and homeschool groups alike through Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center , with a perfect mix of curriculum and camp fun! Don't wait for next summer to experience Mikell Magic!

A big THANK YOU to everyone that joined us for Work Camp 2026!

Last weeks campers spent the first half of each day learning new skills, problem solving, and working together to better Camp Mikell. After a full afternoon of traditional camp activities they gathered to discuss the concept and importance of stories- their own, those passed down, and those we are still writing, during Deans Program. And of course it wouldn’t be camp without a big group game (or dance!) and nighttime singing to finish each day!
