🚑 ZERO DEFICIENCIES. ONE INCREDIBLE TEAM. 💪

We are proud to share that today, Pocono Mountain Regional Emergency Medical Services successfully completed our triannual Pennsylvania Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services site inspection with ZERO identified deficiencies! ✅

This comprehensive inspection is about much more than checking ambulances.

It validates that our fleet, medical equipment, administrative processes, training requirements, and clinical practices meet the standards established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Passing with zero deficiencies is an accomplishment worth celebrating. 🎉

Behind that result was a tremendous amount of preparation, coordination, and teamwork.

Anyone who works in EMS knows the challenge: our ambulances still need to answer calls while those same vehicles and their equipment need to rotate through inspection. Coordinating an entire fleet while maintaining operational coverage and honoring our commitment to the communities we serve is no small undertaking.

Today, our team made a stressful and complicated process look seamless.

👏 A special thank you and well deserved kudos to Jeff Kovalchik, who spearheaded this project and coordinated the controlled chaos from start to finish.

And thank you to EVERY member of the PMREMS team who prepared equipment, organized documentation, moved vehicles, maintained coverage, answered calls, and pitched in wherever needed.

An inspection may happen on one day, but a result like ZERO DEFICIENCIES reflects the work our people do every day.

Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is impacting our region, creating unhealthy air quality that can affect everyone, especially children, older adults, pregnant individuals, and those with asthma, COPD, heart disease, or other respiratory conditions.

🌫️ Protect yourself and your loved ones:

✅ Stay indoors as much as possible and keep windows and doors closed.
✅ If you must go outside, wear a well-fitting N95 or KN95 mask.
✅ Limit strenuous outdoor activities, including exercise and yard work.
✅ Run your air conditioning on recirculate or use a HEPA air purifier if available.
✅ Keep rescue inhalers and prescribed medications readily accessible if you have a respiratory condition.

If you experience severe shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion, or worsening respiratory symptoms, seek medical attention immediately or call 911 in an emergency.

🚑 Always Here. Always Ready. Always Proud to Serve. ❤️

Pocono Mountain Regional EMS is proud to once again provide first aid and on-site EMS coverage for the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company Annual Carnival. Our Community Support Unit and EMS team are on site throughout the event, ready to respond so families can enjoy a safe and memorable week together.

If you’re heading to the carnival, be sure to stop by and say hello. We are honored to serve the community we call home.

🥵 We don’t know about you, but this oppressive heat has everyone feeling it this week.

When you’re spending your day responding to emergencies in dark blue uniforms, 100-degree temperatures can make for some long shifts. So you can imagine our surprise (and excitement!) when we looked outside and found Rising Bear Coffee set up right in the parking lot we share with the Pocono Mountain Public Library ☕🧊

Will an iced coffee make the heat disappear? Unfortunately, no.

Will an incredible cold brew, an iced latte, or your favorite frozen drink make the day a whole lot better? Absolutely. 😎

If you’re in the area, swing by and grab a drink! They’ll be here until 5:00 PM today, and you’ll also see them set up throughout next week.

A huge thank you to the team at Rising Bear for helping keep our crews, library staff, and the community just a little cooler during this heat wave. We appreciate you!

Stay hydrated, stay safe, and if you don’t absolutely have to be outside, find some air conditioning! 🌞❄️
