Come one come all and join Steamtown NHS for our next Autumn Excursion to Tobyhanna, PA.

This Saturday, October 3, take the train through the Poconos and enjoy the beginnings of fall. Tour the town or take a half mile walking tour to Millpond #1 and learn about the ice harvesting industry. Don't forget to grab a bite to eat and enjoy the live entertainment.

Tickets are available by visiting recreation.gov and searching Steamtown National Historic Site. Check out our official website at nps.gov/stea for a full list of fall excursions.

It's a Pickling Paradise in the Poconos coming up on Saturday, September 26.
Take the Steamtown train to the annual "Pickle Me Poconos" festival held near the tracks in East Stroudsburg, PA.

Our historic diesel electric locomotives and railroad coaches whisk you over the mountain to the center of the action. Boarding is at 9:00 AM for the 9:30 departure in Scranton. Returning to Scranton by 5:15 PM. Tickets are $55.00 per adult, $50 for seniors, 62 and up, $33.00 for youth, 3 to 11 years old, and $1.00 for children 2 and under. If you are already at the festival, take a scenic rail tour to the gap of the Delaware Water Gap. This is the longest untamed river in the Eastern US. You might even spot the changing of the foliage during your ride. Tickets available through their website at theironhorsesociety.com.

Our friends at the East Stroudsburg Railroad Tower Society and the Eastburg Community Alliance will also have their railroad tower and station open for you to tour during your visit.

Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the brave first responders, military members, and ordinary Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the days that followed.

We remember the families who were forever changed. We remember the heroes who ran toward danger. And we remember a nation that stood together.
