Don’t just wonder what happened—make it happen!

You’ve seen the posts, you’ve seen the trash—now come help us clear it. We are heading to Stafford Road this Saturday for our quarterly RIDOT clean-up, and we are expecting a massive turnout from everyone in town who has expressed concern about the litter problem.

Let’s turn that online energy into real-world impact. We’ve heard the concerns, now let’s see the support!

When: This Saturday @ 11:00 AM

Where: Meet at Dunkin’ (Stafford Rd) to pick up your supplies

What: We provide the bags and gear; you provide the muscle

The rule of thumb for recycling plastic in RI's mixed recycling program? Stick to plastic containers—nothing else!

📝 Quick tips:

Plastic containers: Containers must be empty at a minimum and rinsed whenever possible.
Plastic tops: Place them back on the container before recycling.

Hold the foam: The Little Compton Garden Club is hosting a Styrofoam Recycling Day at St. Andrew’s Church at 182 Willow Ave. in Little Compton. ♻

Start saving blocks of hard, white Styrofoam (no labels or tape) used for protective packing, including computers, TVs, other electronics, and breakable items. We will also accept Styrofoam coolers and ice chests, rinsed Styrofoam coffee cups, to-go food containers, meat trays, egg cartons, and other Styrofoam products with the #6 recycling triangle.

Packing peanuts or spongy foam that doesn’t snap when you try to break it can not be accepted.

The Styrofoam will be delivered to Insulation Technology in Bridgewater, Mass., where it is recycled into insulation. https://ecori.org/event/styrofoam-recycling-day/

Due to snow covering much of the trash and cold temperatures, today’s Tiverton Litter Committee cleanup is canceled.
Thank you to everyone who planned to join us. We will share a new date soon.

New Year, Clean Roads!

Start the new year doing something good for Tiverton. Join the Tiverton Litter Committee for our Second Annual New Year Clean Roads Cleanup on Stafford Road as we kick off our second year partnering with RIDOT through the Adopt A Highway Program.

We will be cleaning our adopted stretch of Stafford Road and giving away limited free swag to new and returning Adopt A Highway volunteers while supplies last.

All are welcome. Bring a friend and dress for the weather. All supplies provided.

Date: New Year’s Day
Meeting Location: Dunkin’ Donuts parking lot on Stafford Road
Time: updated to 1 pm start (check out the Polar Plunge at Grinnell’s before the clean up!)
