Every morning, reality begins again.

For one brief moment, before the memory fully returns, the world can feel almost normal. Then you remember. They are still gone. The life you had before is still gone. And once again, you are forced to carry a truth your heart never agreed to.

It has been 18 years since Chanell died, and there are still moments when my mind knows what happened, but my heart refuses to accept that this is the life I have been given. I have learned how to function, smile, love my family, and rebuild pieces of myself. But none of that means her death became acceptable. It means I am learning to live with something I never wanted to survive.

That is one of the cruelest parts of grief. The world calls it acceptance, but sometimes acceptance is simply waking up, facing the same unbearable truth, and continuing anyway.

If you woke up carrying that truth again today, you do not have to explain it here. Leave their name in the comments. We will remember them with you.

It is with a great deal of difficulty I write to you tonight to tell you of the loss of another of our beloved team. Jean Cavada passed away on Wednesday August 26, 2026, after a brief illness. She was one of us from the very beginning and she will be dearly missed.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Sept 2nd, 2026 @ 2pm at Mt Bloom Cemetery in Tiskilwa.
The family has asked that donations be
made to Hunter Cemetery in lieu of flowers.
A Memorial plaque will be placed in her honor at Hunter at our next Biennial Meeting in June 2027.

Thank you.
Mikki Juidge
Secretary
