If you haven't noticed, there are hundreds of new connections and reconnections to the Carters Branch/Petertown community. This is due in part to ongoing research-, reaching out through DNA. For the first time, the real identity/origin of the towns founder(s) is less than two regenerations from revelation: On the verge of revealing the parentage of Peter Alexander. Vital DNA is needed from a direct male descendant: Peter's great grandsons sons. Statistically there are roughly nine living today. Looking for pictures and videos from the July reunion. Also, pictures of Iuka Colored School and Carter-, the new one in Tishomingo before consolidation. Any events priior to consolidation: Sports, social (proms, etc.), graduations-, 1965-1969. Teachers, busdrivers, cafeteria workers and any other persons or events regarding these schools and this particular time frame (or before).

Betty J. Montgomery, age 77 of Flint, passed away July 31, 2017 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 1030 am, Monday, August 7,2017 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint, MI. Family hour for visitors will be 10 am until time of service
