A mammogram is a screening tool that can help detect breast cancer.

National Mammography Day is a good reminder to check whether you are due for a screening. If you’ve been putting it off, consider using today as your reminder to make that appointment.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month 💗

Breast health starts with knowing your body and staying up to date with recommended screenings.

A few ways women can stay on top of their health:

-Talk with your provider about mammograms and when you should begin screening. For women at average risk, the American Cancer Society says ages 40–44 have the option to begin yearly mammograms, ages 45–54 should receive one every year, and women 55+ may continue yearly screenings or switch to every other year.

-Keep regular appointments with your healthcare provider

-Know your family health history

-Pay attention to changes in your body

-Maintain healthy habits such as staying active, eating a balanced diet, and getting enough rest

-Don’t put off talking with a healthcare provider if you have a concern

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encourage women in your life to make their health a priority. 🎀

September is National Sewing Month!

Hand Sewing & Clothing Repair Workshop on September 23 from 2–4 PM at the Tiptonville Public Library.

Learn basic sewing skills and bring an item from home to work on! Supplies will also be available. ✂️🪡
