Julian will no longer greet you at the farm. He won’t be there for future open days, even though for years he was one of the first faces you’d see upon arrival. You came to see the horses, and there was Julian. A camel. A moment of surprise, a smile, and a first meeting that stayed in your memory for a long time. During open days, he was one of the true hosts of this place. Today we look back at those moments, and it is so hard for us to accept that there won’t be any more.
Julian spent years in a circus. He knew stress and mistreatment before he came to us, thanks to your support. At the Szczedrzykowice farm, he lived his best years. He had a home, care, and peace. He was our little ray of sunshine a gentle, extraordinary animal who could brighten anyone’s day just with his presence. Time and again, we felt him showing us his gratitude. Today, we wish we could gently stroke his muzzle one last time and thank him for all the years he spent by our side.
Our team knew him, our donors knew him, and so did our guests. For many of you, Julian was simply a core part of Centaurus. So natural, that it’s hard to imagine not seeing him on your next visit. Out of habit, we too will keep looking over toward his spot. Rescuing animals gives us shared years, everyday routines, and deep bonds. And then a day like this comes, and we have to say goodbye to an animal who became one of us.
Thank you all for helping us give Julian those good years. Thank you that, after his life in the circus, he was able to have a home here and people who loved him.
Dearest Julian, thank you for giving us the honor of knowing you. Thank you for every greeting and every day with you. We will miss you so very much.
