This weekend Pack 442 enjoyed our annual Spring Campout. This year we camped at Rainbow Scout Reservation where we climbed, hiked, ate outdoors, enjoyed a campfire and s'mores, participated in a flag retirement ceremony, and our soon to be Arrow of Light Scouts got a taste of troop life by serving breakfast to their fellow scouts and families.

To every Scout mom out there — whether you're leading the meeting, finishing a pinewood derby car at midnight, packing snacks for the hike, washing the uniform (again), or simply getting your Scout where they need to be — thank you! We appreciate everything you do!

🎣Another successful Hooked on Scouting fishing event for Pack 442 in the books!🎣

Despite less than ideal weather, we had over 25 scouts and their families join us at Centennial Park this morning to catch some fish and earn their fishing adventures!

Special thanks to the Andrew High School Bass Fishing Club for coming out again this year to teach our scouts the basics of fishing. We love getting to partner with our community to host fun events for our scouts!

Check out all of these Scouters who are committed to being trained to make a difference! They participated in the first weekend of PTAC’s spring Wood Badge course at Camp Betz this past weekend. They are looking forward to participating in weekend 2 in two weeks and then working their ticket to make a difference in local Scouting and beyond.

These three hiking BEASTS decided to take on the 3-Dune Challenge at Indiana Dunes State Park today during the Takhone Lodge #7 Potawatomi Hike and absolutely CRUSHED IT!

⛰️ Mt. Jackson — CONQUERED!
⛰️ Mt. Holden — CONQUERED!
⛰️ Mt. Tom — CONQUERED!

Together we hiked 6 miles on foot and 552 vertical feet of climbing.

And if that wasn't enough, they also completed a scavenger hunt to earn a brand new ribbon for our unit flag! 🎖️

We couldn't be prouder of these trail blazers. Watch out, wilderness, Pack 442 is coming for you!

Learning but make it FUN!

🧪Our March pack night was all about Science Fun🥼 Thank you to the Bloom Trail High School Chem Club for putting on a fun and engaging Science Night. From slime making and exploding eggs to robots and "lab" made Dippin Dots, our Scouts learned about chemistry, biology, and robotics.

Special thanks to our parent volunteers and Pack 442 alumni Scouts for helping with the experiments and demonstrations.

Here at Pack 442, we love when we're able to connect our Scouts to the larger community. This morning our Lion den visited the WM recycling center in Hodgkins to learn all about recycling for their Champions of Nature adventure.

Today, we pause to honor and thank the brave men and women who have served our country. Your courage, sacrifice, and commitment to protecting our freedoms inspire us all.

This morning, some Pack 442 Scouts teamed up with the Girl Scouts to proudly present the flags and lead the Pledge of Allegiance during their school’s Veterans Day Assembly. We’re so proud of our Scouts for representing the values of respect, service, and community while helping to celebrate our local heroes.

🇺🇸 **Pack 442 Scouts in Action!** 🇺🇸

Last Tuesday, our Cub Scouts proudly led the Pledge of Allegiance at the National Night Out opening ceremony with VFW Bremen Post 2791.

Cub Scouting is for girls and boys in K–5th grade. From camping and crafts to service projects and adventures, there’s a place for your family in Pack 442!

Tonight the Tinley Park Fire Department helped Pack 442's Scouts put their engineering and problem solving skills to the ultimate test with the help of their ladder truck.

A huge thank you to the firefighters who joined us tonight!

Thank you to the Victor J Andrew High School Fishing Club for helping bring back the Pack 442 fishing derby.

Our scouts learned about tying knots, casting, different types of fish in the area, and even got to see a bass protecting its egg bed. We even had a few catches!
