Financial Assistance: OFWs Affected by Super Typhoon Sinlaku

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and OWWA are providing financial aid for migrant workers affected by the recent typhoon.

IMPORTANT: Registration is first-come, first-served. Apply immediately, assistance is available only while supplies last.

Individual Assistance (Not per Household)
This is individual assistance, not per family .
• If there are 3 contract workers living in the same household, all 3 can apply and avail of the assistance separately.

Who is Qualified?
• Must hold a temporary work permit (CW1, H1B, H2B, H2A, etc.).
• Both Active and Inactive OWWA members are eligible.
• Undocumented workers are also eligible to apply.
• Long-term permanent residents (Green Card holders) are included.

Who is NOT Eligible?
• Dual citizens or Naturalized citizens.

Key Reminders:
1. Complete Documentation: Attach all required documents to ensure your application is deemed complete.
2. Direct Review: Applications go directly to the DMW Office in Washington, D.C. for review.
3. Pre-Qualification: Funds will be distributed to those who have been pre-qualified based on their online applications.

TPLC Global Week of Service: Hunger Initiative

As part of the Global Week of Service focused on addressing hunger, Tinian Pika Lion’s Club (TPLC) proudly partnered with the Department of Youth Services (DYS), Tinian, from January 3-11, 2026, to support children and families currently in the program. This initiative marks our first community service project this 2026 and sets the tone for a year grounded in compassion, service, and community collaboration.

Through this effort, our local Lions Club provided food packages to program participants to help meet essential needs during a critical time. While we honor and protect the privacy of the families served, we are grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside them with care and compassion.

Special thanks to Tinian DYS caseworkers Janel B. Aldan and Mark R. Mapeso, who wholeheartedly stepped up to assist TPLC in the distribution of food packages. Their dedication and support were instrumental in ensuring this effort reached those who needed it most. As we welcome 2026, this initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to service, partnership, and making a meaningful difference one act of kindness at a time.
