Ray Sanders a longtime resident of Stockman was laid to rest at Mt Olive in Silas yesterday . He and Kay were the sweetest couple and our whole community came out to support Kay and the family . Being part of Mt Olive praise team yesterday as we sang It is Well With My Soul gave me chills . It was evident how loved he was by the crowd . Folks spilled out into the foyer and even upstairs .
Kay and family you all are in our prayers .

Welcome to the new Silas Happenings Page ! I am Nancy Decker Butler . Silas was where I was raised ! I’ve been all over the place and we have settled back in my hometown community . Many years ago I wrote the Silas News for the Timpson newspapers . I followed Winnie Mae Perkins in writing once she could not do it anymore .
I decided to create our little community a page where friends can enjoy reading local stuff or see a picture you post . I ask that no outside advertising be on here . It will be deleted . This site was created to know what’s going on . If you lost or found an animal , or have an announcement , just anything like this is accepted . Folks out of town will enjoy it ! If you’ve got a family reunion coming up or a death or marriage, a home cooked recipe with a photo or even a prayer request you might like to share please do .
