Spent some time today looking back on the last 2 years that we spent Thanksgiving celebrating animals, peace, and good food together- While also coming to terms with the fact that it’s just not possible for us this year.

We are dreamers first and foremost but sometimes we have to wear “realist” shoes too. Those of you closest to us know we welcomed our third child into the world this summer, so life has slowed down for us for now.

Thanks to all who reached out to us about this event- It’s really our favorite to host you all here. We can’t wait to catch up with you next year. 😊

Fall is in the air, hay has filled the barn, and we have a proposition for you!

Help us clean up our shirt inventory, by helping us pay off our massive hay bill! 🙂 This is enough hay for Elsie, Aideen, Cicero, Otis, and Pesto for the whole winter. Elsie looks pretty pleased about it doesn't she? 😁

Every donation $10 or more gets you a shirt in your size in the mail! We have sizes 3T- adult 3X, and we also have adult crew necks! We are so excited to get these shirts out of our storage room and into your mailboxes!

When you place your donation you'll have the option to leave a note- Put your size choice there! If you have a preference for color or design just say the word and we'll do our best to make that happen.

We got a call earlier this week about a sweet cow who is need of a new home- And as we all know, a great big cow is not the easiest critter to find a home for. 😞

Kate the 8 1/2 year old Jersey Holstein cross has been the pet of a young girl in Clintonville WI for all of her life. Unfortunately the young girl has grown up and can’t take Kate with her as she is leaving home, and her parents won’t keep her any longer.

She has had 5 calves over her life and needs a safe place to spend her retirement now- Where there is no chance of her being sold or bred anymore.

If you could please SHARE Kate’s story, maybe the right person will come across her and she can find a happy peaceful place to land. ♥️

A good ol’ transformation photo of Jack after his fall shearing last week. 😊

Running a sanctuary is truly a community effort! In this case, the crew who shear our sheep and trim our goats hooves happen to live just a few miles down the road. Thank you for another great job well done W & W Livestock. They have taken being great neighbors to new heights. 🙂

Our matriarch, Aideen, laying in her favorite spot where she can keep watch over the whole sanctuary. She is in this same spot each day when we wake up. Always alert.

Elsie was out this morning, and you can be sure Aideen was the first to let us know with a constant “moooooo”. 😆 Thankfully she was an easy catch and the girls are happily back together.

Cicero would like you to admire his beautiful swampy pond. 🙂

He is getting to be an old boy, 8 years strong. We just love to see him out and about, still doing all the things he loves. Anybody who has been along with us for a few years knows Cicero has made his bit of trouble, but old age has been good to him (and good for us 😅) and he’s a real gentleman now. Happiest when he’s having a dip in the pond. 💚

This sweet loving cat has been living as a stray on a porch in Tigerton for a while, and as winter is starting to make its way to us, she really needs a permanent home.

What a long hot summer we had, nonetheless the animals were troopers, enjoying the pond and the shade.

It’s pretty clear that everybody is much happier now that nights are getting cooler, though. There’s a certain look in their eye, and a skip in their step.

We know fall is a short season, but we’ll enjoy it for all it’s worth. ♥️🍁🍂

Our good boy Elliot has grown up to be such a handsome and gentle fella! He will turn 5 in the fall and we’re finally admitting he’s not a baby goat anymore. 🥹

Everybody has been loving these cooler days (Elliot, and US included) and it’s good to see them out grazing in the daytime again.

It has taken us extra long to recover from a hard winter and hard spring this year and we’re glad to finally be enjoying the fruits of our labor with all the animals. 🙂
