We are gearing up for our next W**d Wrangle event. Caroline Shaw (UGA) is organizing the event with Coastal Plain Chapter of GNPS as co-sponsor. We hope you can join us. It will be held on the MLK day of community service – January 20 from 9 am to 1 pm. Once again, we will work on getting rid of invasive plants along the nature trail at GA Museum of Agriculture. We will meet at the start of the trail behind the Peanut Museum.

Most volunteers will use cut-stump method – use loppers to cut small shrubs, then paint herbicide on the stumps. Experienced invasive warriors can use hack-and-squirt or even chainsaws. Back in November, I sprayed part of the area with a backpack spray to kill young seedlings and Japanese climbing fern, less than waist high. We will have equipment available but bring any loppers if you have them.
