Great group of kids!

Yesterday, Seneca CEO students spent some time exploring our community and learning more about the people, businesses, and partnerships that make City of Tiffin such a great place to call home.

I had the pleasure of helping narrate the tour alongside Danny Perry, owner of Big Mike's and the Tiffin Pedal Company, and Jodie Reinbolt of the Tiffin Community Foundation. As we made our way around town, we shared stories about local businesses, community development, and some of the people and projects that continue to move Tiffin forward.

One of the best parts was hearing the students’ questions and seeing their genuine interest in our community. These young people are part of Tiffin and Seneca County’s future, and it’s exciting to give them a closer look at the community they may someday help lead, grow, and strengthen.

Give like Dolly!

Today is Dolly Day in Tiffin, and I am proud to invite our community to celebrate the joy of reading and the importance of early childhood literacy.

Today, the Tiffin Community Foundation is matching contributions to the Gase Family Literacy Fund. That means your donation will have twice the impact in supporting our local 44883 Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which provides a free book every month to more than 1,000 children in our community.

If you have been considering making a contribution, today is an excellent opportunity to do so. Together, we can help ensure that more local children have access to books and the lifelong benefits of reading.

I also invite you to join us in City Lot 6 beginning at 4 PM for our Dolly Day celebration. I will begin the event with a proclamation, followed by karaoke, food trucks, children’s activities and plenty of Dolly-inspired fun.

As mayor, I am grateful for the generosity and community spirit that make initiatives like this possible. Please come out, support literacy, support our children and help us make the most of these matching funds.

More than 1,000 local children in our community receive a FREE book every month through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, supported locally by The Gase Family Literacy Fund. In honor of Dolly Day on Friday, September 25, the Tiffin Community Foundation will MATCH contributions made to the fund, doubling your impact and helping put books into the hands of local children for years to come.

Donations can be made in person at the Tiffin Community Foundation, 31 S. Washington Street, from 9 AM to 4 PM, online at www.tiffinfoundation.org, or during Dolly Day festivities. Chamber & Development member Simply Susan's is also getting in on the giving, with $5 from every Dolly-themed item sold donated to The Gase Family Literacy Fund.

The Gase Family Literacy Fund granted about $12,000 last year to provide Dolly's books to all children 0-5 years old in the 44883 zip code. In memory of Dolly Parton, we will be matching all contributions made to the Gase Fund next week! Dolly Day, 9/25 will be the final day to have your donations doubled! Contributions will be accepted at the TCF office or online at www.tiffinfoundation.org Help us celebrate Dolly's belief in the power of a child and a book!

We are proud to recognize the Tiffin Community Foundation, through the generous support of its Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Grant, as one of our 2026 Silver Sponsors!

The Tiffin Community Foundation provides meaningful support to local nonprofit organizations through grants that strengthen programs benefiting Tiffin and Seneca County. Through the Youth Advisory Council, local students are given the opportunity to take an active role in philanthropy by reviewing applications and helping decide where funding can make the greatest impact.

We are especially grateful to the YAC for choosing to support Operation Hallmark Inc. and helping make Winter Wonderland a shared experience that brings people of all ages together in our community.
