Youth baseball program for boys and girls ages 5 to 8. Designed for fun and introduction to pitching and basic fundamentals of the game.

TYSA Rookie Division began in 2008 as a way to introduce young players to the game of baseball through the concept of Coach Pitch. Players are thought the basics of the game, learning where to throw the ball and runners knowing where to run. Our goal is to move away from only running from base to base per batter. Fielder will learn the concept of getting outs. The Rookie Division is part of the Tiffin Youth Sports Association.

Reminder to all league players for Saturday October 24th. The Tiffin Halloween Parade will start at 10am. We will need all players to our spot at 9:30. I will not find out our spot until the 22nd and will let everybody know then. Costumes are allowed but if they can wear their jerseys over them that would be great. Candy will be provided to toss but you can also bring your own. There are also activities in the downtown area after the parade. We will end at Ralph’s Joy of Living parking lot if you can not walk with us you can pick your player up there.

UPDATE!!!!

We have FOUND A COMMISSIONER!!!

Time to spread some good news. The TYSA Rookie Division has found their commissioner which will allow the division to move forward.

Sarah Leonard
419-443-5137

Sarah will be reaching out to each player (parents of players) to introduce herself and bring you up to speed on what is coming next. Please be on the lookout for a text or phone call from her.

Timeline

The next hurdle to get things going is getting coaches. Sarah will be reaching out looking for volunteers to step up and take on the reigns of the teams. As soon as Head Coaches are in place then practices can start.

The goal is to start practices no later than Sept. 7 (hopefully sooner depending on how rapidly we can get coaches in place).

2-3 weeks of practice would be followed by starting of games.

The plan is for the season to not extend past October 16th .

As more information becomes available on coaches, rosters, teams, schedules it will be provided right here on the this page as well as communicated from the commissioner and through coaches to parents.

If you have any questions please contact Sarah Leonard at 419-443-5137 or you can reach out through this page.

Thank you again for your continued patience and cooperation as we continue to work through this season.

Our Rookie Division is STILL currently looking for volunteers to coach our teams. If you would be interested in helping out to coach please reach out ASAP to any of the board members at TYSA which can be found on our website.

An email is going out to all of the people who have registered also requesting assistance, please feel free to reply to that email with any interest.

Once we can get coaches in place we can start to move forward with getting the Rookie Division (coach pitch) moving forward.

Thankfully with this division, once we have the volunteers and infrastructure in place we can move very quickly to get a season started and going as it is possible to play multiple games in one day.

Thank you to everyone for your patience and cooperation as we continue to try and advance the Rookie division forward.
