The 2019 Annual Respect for Law Luncheon took place on May 8th in the Public Safety Department at Sentinel Career Center. Students from the Culinary Department served a delicious lunch enjoyed by area law enforcement, elected officials and several other special guests.
Optimist member and guest speaker Judge Michael Kelbley talked about the growth of the PIVOT Drug Court, a multi-jurisdictional specialty court offered by Seneca County Court of Common Please and Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.
Proclamations were presented by Seneca County Commissioner Holly Stacy, Tiffin Mayor Aaron Montz and Fostoria Mayor Eric Keckler proclaiming May 5-12th as Respect for Law Week.
Students in the Public Safety Program offered a tour of their facility afterwards to guests and enjoyed a speaking with Tiffin Chief Fred Stevens and Fostoria Police Chief Keith Loreno.
"Respect for Law", an Optimist International program, began in July 1965. The purpose of the program is to provide the community a focus against local violence issues, particularly those involving children and families to recognize local law enforcement officials in the community.
