Big things happen when you come together 💙

This Spring, over 880 ORBs were built by 731 volunteers over 26 days—that's over 88.5 tons of shoreline protection ready to be installed.

This means more shore stabilization in vulnerable areas, protection from wave erosion, and increased habitats for oyster population growth in our bay 🦪

Each ORB creates a home for 300 new oysters on average, which in turn filter about 15,000 gallons of water. Multiply that by 884 ORBs...now THAT is progress in motion to continue restoring the bay everyday 🌊

20+ Tons. 70+ Volunteers. 2 Days. Real Impact 🙌

This past week, our crew put in some serious elbow grease—shoveling, bagging, and deploying 20+ tons of aquaculture-grade shell bags to strengthen the living shoreline project at the MacDill Airforce Base. More than 77 volunteers worked with our restoration team to stabilize and strengthen this living shoreline, enhancing its resilience over time!

How many native plants ⁉️

Our Bay Grasses in Classes Program has closed out its 2025-2026 season rooted in success! In total, BGIC students from all participating schools this season transplanted over 5,500 native wetland plants helping to strenthen our shorelines and enhance the health of our coastal wetland. Now that's what we call "sprout"- standing 🌱

🤿 Start your summer off the right way by joining us on our first Sandbar Snorkeling Excursion of the season on Monday, May 25!

Our sandbar snorkeling excursions offer a chance to cool off while exploring the Tampa Bay ecosystem. Guests can grab a dip net or borrow a mask and join our knowledgeable marine science educators to snorkel in search of fish, crabs, snails, seahorses, and more! 🦀

You are also welcome to stroll or swim in the shallows. This program is family-friendly and open to ages 5 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
