76th Regiment of Foot, MacDonald's Highlanders National Park Service."

"The 76th Regiment Of Foot is a group of like-minded individuals who share an interest in Colonial American history, focusing in on the Scottish military aspects of the British Army in North America during the American War of Independence. We attempt to accurately recreate a single unit, the MacDonald Highlanders, and portray it at various events in the Virginia area, the same area that the 76th primarily operated in during its time in North America. The 76th endeavors to provide an accurate depiction of the American War of Independence from the perspective of Scottish Soldiers in service of the British Army and seeks to enhance the public's understanding of this momentous juncture in American History through participation in public living history, military campaign re-enactment and educational venues. The 76th Regiment of Foot performs educational programs and demonstrations, free of charge, for various non-profit historical, cultural, educational and governmental organizations including public schools, libraries, museums and the U.S.
