Hello SARA members, friends and family,
With gratitude I want to thank SARA and all the people in it for being a vital part of my life and recovery for the past several years. Starting in 2021, it came in a much-needed time in my own recovery that challenged me and gave me the opportunity to do more. I had the privilege of meeting and becoming friends with so many amazing people. Like myself, they had previously struggled with drugs and/or alcohol, but then became rehabilitated and integrated back into the community. People were rehired where they had been previously fired, new careers were started, families reunited, and nothing is more powerful than witnessing a member receiving their sobriety coin from their family. SARA’s simple approach for positive alternatives that combines community and peer engagement with fun activities has shown its effectiveness in the smiles of so many SARA members, their families and friends.
I am honored to get to pass the torch on, as I continue to step into a new role with the Prevention Team. Thank you SARA members and supporters for being a vital part of our recovery community! Next week we are excited to announce our new hire. Until then, here are some more pictures of our past sober fun!
