Thurmont Lions Club Since 1929, the Thurmont Lions Club has positively impacted our community through various charitable activities.

Our dedicated members work on numerouse projects, and we invite you to join us by attending one of our meetings! Since 1929, the Thurmont Lions Club has served our community and our world. While we continue to partner with 1.3 million other Lions' members in more than 200 countries to support our global mission of vision-related needs and projects, the primary focus for members of the Thurmont Lions club is helping those in and around Thurmont.

🌟 **Member Spotlight: Maxine!** 🌟

Meet Maxine, our talented **2nd Vice President**! A retired software engineer, she spent 18 years working on the DOJ’s Asset Forfeiture Tracking System.

Maxine redesigned our club website and keeps it running beautifully. You’ll also see her at events taking photos, helping with desserts, or taking sandwich orders.

We had a wonderful evening with Scouts BSA, Troop 270, Thurmont, MD, the troop proudly sponsored by the Thurmont Lions Club! 🌟

The scouts hosted us for a cookout on a beautiful night, complete with great food and even better company. It was a true pleasure to spend time together and hear firsthand about all the incredible work these young leaders are doing.

Two of the Eagle Scouts shared details about their impressive projects, and several other scouts spoke about the many activities and community initiatives they’re involved in across Thurmont and the surrounding areas. Their dedication and enthusiasm are truly inspiring!

During the evening, the Lions Club also had the honor of awarding a scholarship and recognizing several outstanding scouts for their achievements.

We’re proud to support such a fantastic group of young people and grateful for the opportunity to connect with them. The future is in great hands! 👏

The Thurmont American Legion Legacy Riders hosted their Gold Star Family Ride and honored Gold Star Mothers by asking them to speak—our very own Lion, Julie El-Taher was among the speakers.

Throughout the evening, several riders came up to Julie to donate to the Gold Star Monument. The raffle winner generously donated his entire winnings. Together, these acts of kindness totaled $700.

These riders traveled 580 miles to raise money for Gold Star families, children, and veterans in need. Their dedication, generosity, and unwavering support mean more than words can express.

Grateful beyond measure to be surrounded by such an amazing community. đź’›

If you’ve ever enjoyed one of our famous pit sandwiches or stocked up on our delicious chocolate sales, you’ve seen Don's impact firsthand. Don is truly one of the most active and dedicated members of our club—bringing both the *brains and the brawn* to everything he touches.

From helping lead the charge on our pit sandwich events to driving the success of our chocolate sales (and so much more behind the scenes), Don’s commitment, energy, and heart make a difference in everything we do.

The Lions Mobile Screening Unit is set up beside The Vault@ in downtown Thurmont today! Stop by for FREE health screenings, including diabetes risk assessment, vision screening, and blood pressure checks.

Last night our club had the privilege of distributing all of the funds we raised throughout the year back into our community. Thanks to your support of our chocolate sales, pit sandwich sales, raffles, and other fundraisers we were able to provide donations and scholarships to close to 50 different groups, students and organizations.

Thank you to everyone in our community who supported our fundraising efforts, and thank you to all of these amazing groups for everything they do to help our citizens each and every day. Together, we are making a difference! 🎉💕🎉
