Programs and Projects in 2016:

1. In keeping with our mission, the Friendly Visits Outreach Program is the community-building core of Aging in Community- Three Rivers. We connect volunteers with elders through monthly visits and phone calls. Friendships grow as common interests are explored.

2. Elders are invited to share their oral histories with Story Gatherers for a collection of personal memories called "Dynamic Lives" which will be placed on reserve at the 3R Library, the Historical Museum and the Visalia library.

3. Afternoon at the Movies is a free monthly social event bringing seniors together at St. Anthony Retreat. The Senior Lunch Special is available by reservation. Check the Kaweah Commonwealth Kalendar for details.

4. The Pen Pal Project connects elders and local school children several times each year. This activity builds connections between the age groups, promotes the power of literacy and weaves our elders into the fabric of our village.

5. Our FREE 2016 Workshops focus on senior issues. April 21: “ A Dignified Life: The Best Friend’s Approach to Alzheimer’s Care” at St. Anthony Retreat Center at 7 PM
May 12: "Grace in Dying" Webinar at St. Anthony Retreat Center, 10 AM
May 21: “Advance Health Care Directives” at St. Anthony Retreat Center, 1 PM and 3:30 PM
