Our animals have a champion in Tamy. 💙🐾
We could not be prouder to celebrate Healthcare For Homeless Animals’ President, Tamy Rieder, Tamy Rieder who has been named Volunteer of the Year after more than 13 years and 5,000+ hours dedicated to the animals of Agoura Animal Care Center Agoura Animal Care Center
And if you know Tamy, you know those numbers only begin to tell the story.
It started with Kala, the shelter dog Tamy and her family adopted more than 13 years ago. One adoption turned into thousands of hours of showing up. Twice weekly volunteer shifts. Leading volunteer teams. Socializing and working with shelter dogs. Vet appointments and emergency drives. Adoption events. Early mornings to Burbank for KABC’s Pet of the Week. And countless hours behind the scenes as President of Healthcare for Homeless Animals, helping make sure our animals receive the medical care they need.
And sometimes, the animals she helps never quite leave. 💗 Tamy adopted Rosie, Mopsy and Daisy, three of our very own alumni whose medical care we helped fund, whom she first fostered and ultimately couldn’t let go. We think they would agree their mom deserves this one. 🥹🐾
Tamy never does this work for recognition. She does it because an animal needs someone to show up, and for more than 13 years, she has - put our animals first (always with a smile on her face).
To our President, our friend, and one of the fiercest advocates our animals could ever have: congratulations, Tamy. We are endlessly grateful for your heart, your leadership, and every single time you have said yes to an animal who needed you.
