James Storehouse California From cribs to college, James Storehouse provides for the needs of children in foster care. James Storehouse is inspired by a Bible verse.

James 1:27 calls us to pursue religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless by providing for and looking after orphans and widows in distress. James Storehouse answers this call to serve and support the children in foster care and those aged-out of foster care. James Storehouse envisions a future where community members join together to care for those left vulnerable in our society, especially children in foster care.

This is what prevention can look like… celebrate with us about a recent success story through Road to Resilience!

Road to Resilience is a program within Family Preservation that supports families impacted by substance use. Our goal is to keep families safely together by surrounding parents with a caring team of professionals who provide guidance, encouragement, and practical support throughout their recovery journey. Each family is paired with a Public Health Nurse, Social Worker, Peer Parent Partner, and Resource Specialist who walk alongside them, helping them build stability, access resources, and create a healthy future for themselves and their children. The partnership between Road to Resilience and James Storehouse helps ensure families have access to essential resources such as formula, bottles, cribs, clothing, and other basic necessities, while also providing resource navigation and connections to community services that support long-term stability and recovery.
One of the greatest reminders of why this work matters is hearing directly from the parents we have the privilege of supporting.

We had the honor of celebrating these parents-to-be yesterday! Baby showers are such a sweet opportunity to come around new parents, encourage them, and celebrate them as they embark on this incredible new journey.

A huge thank you to the volunteers and community members who generously dedicate their time, talents, and resources to supporting expecting parents. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

We can’t wait to welcome these new parents into our parenting classes as they prepare to welcome their sweet baby girl. We’re so grateful to be part of this special season with them! 🦋

Keys to a new chapter!
Last week, we had the absolute joy of surprising a very deserving young woman with a CAR! And her reaction was everything. 🥹

A car is so much more than transportation. It means getting to work, making it to school and appointments, saying yes to new opportunities, and having the freedom to keep chasing her dreams.

One of our favorite moments came after she received the keys… she took the time to go around and hug every single person there, her beautiful way of saying thank you straight from her heart.

And a very special thank you to the incredibly generous donors who gave their beautiful car to help change the trajectory of this young lady’s life. What a gift… not just of a vehicle, but of independence, opportunity, and hope for what’s ahead. We’re so grateful to be part of moments like this!
