Mentoring: One to one program that matches a youth experiencing foster care with a trained community member who provides support, guidance, and cheerleading. PREPARE Life Skills: Courses that focus on skills youth need to survive and thrive. These are skills often taught as a child grows in a family. Topics covered include Budgeting, Credit, Housing, Cooking, Transportation, Employment, and Communication. All classes are interactive and practical. Financial Support: RaisingHOPE provides funding to cover expenses that are not covered in any other way. Examples are textbooks for college, special medical care, housing deposits, extracurricular activities, vehicles, and more. Additional RaisingHOPE programs include:
Celebrate Families - where we honor parents who have done the hard work to break cycles of abuse and neglect to reunify with their children. Holidays of HOPE - a giant holiday party where the community purchases specified wishes for a youth who might otherwise not receive a gift of their preference. Gift Card Bank - we provide youth and county social workers to give youth with gift cards for emergencies, celebrations and achievements. Wear Blue Day - April is Child Abuse Prevention month. Each year RaisingHOPE sponsors a day for the community to take a stand by wearing blue and “painting the town blue” for the cause. We believe in the dignity of our youth and in support plus relationship. We are a voice to the voiceless and provide support where there is none.

The HOPE Sweet Home Campus Project seeks to create safe, supportive housing and community for former foster youth as they transition into independence. 💙

This future campus will provide young adults aging out of care with stability, resources, and a place to call home during one of the most critical seasons of their lives.

We’re excited to share that anyone who gives $500 or more toward this campaign in the next 3 months will become a “Cornerstone Donor” and will be recognized as such on the future campus.

To support this project, donate through our website and select “HOPE Sweet Home Campus Project” in the dropdown menu, thank you!

Great insights from a recent study led by the University of Connecticut that highlights the gap in college attainment for foster youth

This is one of the reasons why RaisingHOPE’s college tours matter! These trips give foster youth the opportunity to visit campuses, connect with students and support programs, and better understand what the path to college can look like

Most recently we took a group of prospective youth to University of California, Santa Cruz and California State University, Monterey Bay!

Thank you to the senior class for choosing RaisingHOPE as their charity for their Senior Lounge ✨

Through this special event celebrating their class, students donated essential items and gift cards to support our youth moving into apartments or dorms for the first time — just like they are. They also took the time to write thoughtful notes of encouragement to our graduating seniors.

We’re so grateful for your generosity and for showing up in such a meaningful way for foster youth stepping into this next chapter. 💙 Congrats class of 26’!
