Each Year Underwood Farms delivers thousands of pumpkins to community service organizations such as Safe Passage and MANDO. Today we are delivering them on behalf of Underwoods for Teen Fridays ( Mando) and Saturdays ( CRPD) youth events in the Conejo. The Underwoods are more than a family , they are the sense of community . ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Connection is core to positive mental health for kids who are underserved. Keeping kids from gangs, homelessness and foster situations is what we do. It is that gangs are made from disconnected young men and teens who are isolated. Safe Passage was built on the premise that gangs recruit by offering belonging, and that the cure is to offer it first through mentors, services and teen clubs. Because Safe Passage keeps that belonging in place through highschool, our volunteers reach young people at the moment youth isolation peaks.

What a day for over 60 kids taking them to Underwood Farms who year after a year supports joy and families. One of our main pillars is to make sure kids don’t feel isolated, but that they feel and are a part of the community and this is just one of our daily programs. Thank you, Conejo Recreation Park District, and Underwood Farms.

Sunday was a big day for Safe Passage Youth. Right here off our coast is the most incredible classroom that any kids can have these giant dolphins entertaining the Youth you can hear the kids screaming in excitement. Fostering curiosity in youth whom otherwise may not have opportunities is how we keep communities, safe, gangs and drugs out of our neighborhoods and build strong families and futures. A big shout out to Dorothy who caught this footage being to really capture the feeling. NO AI, just nature and Youth at their best. ❤️❤️

A big shout out to our food pantry volunteers. Yesterday was our weekly meal pantry. Each week we feed between 50 and 160 families with kids. We can’t do it without our volunteers and our amazing partners like Adelante and Food Share and Food Forward, St. Vincent de Paul Athens Services , Conejo Community Outreach , Los Robles Hospital, Art Trek, Kiwanis and more. Each are part of the community equation for joy. We focus on keeping youth out of gangs. Over 600 kids a week need your help. It takes a community pulling together and more than just a weekly visit to check in on a kid. It’s a seven day a week program… FREE, year-round starting when their infants and letting them know that they mean something to the world and the world cares about them.

Mentoring teens is seven days a week for Safe Passage. Providing them a pathway of joy and success. This is how we keep community safe and stop gangs in their tracks. Once again, our volunteers are bringing the children of Thousand Oaks in Newbury Park and the Conejo to the outdoors. Camping at Santa Cruz Island.✅❤️❤️❤️❤️

Access to swim lessons shouldn’t depend on a family’s budget — that’s why all Safe Passage Youth activities are 100% volunteer-run and always free. This week, our swim lessons are in full swing and it’s a reminder of why we do this work.
200+ kids a year learn to swim through this program. 200+ families with one less thing to fear at the pool, the lake, or the beach.

None of this happens without our incredible volunteers showing up week after week. Huge thank you to Renee and Dee, and to the entire staff at CRPD.
