MOUNT PLEASANT — Veterans and local officials gathered outside Town Hall on Friday March 25, 2011 to commemorate National Medal of Honor Day and honor New Yorkers who have received the nation's highest military award.

For Veteran families, I'm sure that this decision by the U.S. Supreme Court invalidates the genuine heroism of veterans that, in most cases, have lost their lives for our country. Simply put, this ruling promotes fraudulent behavior for personal gain. In my opinion, if you choose to impersonate a Medal of Honor Recipient then the law should you to serve in the military among your prestigious peers. At the least, you may want to volunteer at a local soup kitchen where you can proudly display your well-deserved
medal.

Patriots who serve their country in time of war and plenty of Americans who love them believe that there's a special place in hell for people who claim military medals they didn't earn.
