Welcome Rusty to Team Underdog. Wait, are you sure that's not Tito? No, not but the similarities definitely caught our attention. This kid is about the same age and Tito so we're guessing they're probably related. Rusty found himself in a tight spot at the shelter. We can't save them all, but we can save Rusty.

Our boy Tito made his way to rescue this weekend. That was a rough one. He's just the sweetest guy. People ask all the time how we can just let them go. Well, that's what fostering is about but it's not always easy. I know our rescue partners will find him the best people ever because they are amazing rescues. Underdog Central is a busy place and adding another pup to that chaos is just not in the cards. Fostering is the ultimate gift to a shelter pup. Is it easy? Sometimes. Fostering is potty training, chewed shoes, nibbled on furniture (I mean it is called FURniture), crate training, pack dynamic and lots of cleaning. The best part? Updates. Seeing them living their best life. The life we can't give them. While fostering isn't for everyone we would encourage you to give it a try. Most shelters have a Doggie Day Out program. Just a few hours out of the shelter to relax, find out a little more about them and maybe find their FURever home in the process!

7 years ago we set off on a transport adventure. Our friend here was opposed to his seating assignment. More than once he said 'Ladies, I do not want to be in a kennel like everyone else. Welcome Tito to Team Underdog! This young fella was found on a busy street in rural San Joaquin county in late June. He was scanned for a microchip but sadly did not have one. Our friends at City of Stockton Animal Shelter processed his intake for posting hoping an owner would see his post, but sadly no one came for him. Thanks to the Solari family for keeping him safe since he was found! Tito will be joining his road trip to life 2.0 next week. In the meantime he'll be hanging out at Underdog central.

Sammy is settling into his FURever home like the champ he is! Even with the odds stacked against him he's thriving. Senior, over crowded shelter, pneumonia and heartworm are a lot of things but Sammy said here hold my bully stick while I show you how to live. Sammy is completely recovered from pneumonia and is still undergoing heartworm treatment while going on adventures and being a cherished family member. Thank you Dawn for seeing seniors as pups past the shoe chewing antics and giving them a perfect retirement life. Thank you Katie (the beautiful pup lady) for your patience and grace.

Saaaanitation time, come on! Ok I'm dating myself (roller rink music cue) but it's a catchy tune and works for the situation. Rescue is a lot of cleaning, prep work, celebrating the wins and mourning the losses.

We had some challenges with our transport van the last trip. It needed repairs on the road which isn't how we wanted to end the trip. But we used it as a win since we had to drive 7 hours back to get the van what do you think we did? If you guessed 'we did another transport' you're right! Van fetched from the shop AND more pups safe in foster homes. While we can't control everything, we can control how we react to the situation and make the best out of it. Happy Friday 🐾🐾
