Behind every uniform is a life, a family, a story. Today, we honor three of our own…

These were members of our EMS family—providers who showed up for others on their worst days, who carried the weight of this job, and who made a difference in ways that will never fully be measured.

They were more than their uniforms.
They were teammates, friends, family.
They mattered. They still matter.

We say their names. We remember their lives. We carry them with us.

We also know their stories are not the only ones.

If you have lost a loved one in EMS to su***de or mental health struggles, we would be honored to remember them alongside our own. We are creating a space to share their stories, their impact, and who they were beyond the job.

Different logos. Same fight. 💙🚑

At Hawkins’ Heroes, we talk a lot about making sure no one fights alone, and that’s exactly why being part of the NoCo S.O.L. Fund board means so much to me.

This one is especially personal. My dad worked in EMS alongside some of the amazing people on this board. To now stand beside them, continuing that same mission and taking care of our own, means more than I can put into words.

This isn’t just an organization… it’s a group of people who have lived this job, felt the weight of it, and decided to do something about it. Together, we’re working to build real support for EMS — mental health, wellness, and when it’s needed most, financial help.

Because this job takes a lot.
And too many carry it in silence.

We’re changing that.

Behind the NoCo S.O.L. Fund is a team that truly understands the realities of this profession — because they’ve lived it.

This organization was created by EMS professionals who have experienced firsthand the challenges of the job: the long hours, the weight of the calls, and the need for stronger support systems.

Our board is made up of passionate individuals committed to making a difference — working to strengthen access to mental health support, wellness resources, and financial assistance for EMS providers across Northern Colorado.

They’re not just leaders of this mission — they’re part of the community it serves.

And they believe in one thing wholeheartedly:

Our online silent auction is officially LIVE!

Today is also the day we lost my Dad two years ago.

It’s a date that will always carry heartbreak, but now it carries purpose too. Because he is the reason this exists. He is the reason we gather. He is the reason we chose to turn unimaginable grief into something that helps others.

What once marked the worst day of our lives now also marks a day of impact, generosity, and community.

We can’t change what happened.
But we can choose what grows from it.

So today, we build.
We give.
We show up.

We honor him by creating something bigger than the loss.
We honor him by moving forward with hope.

The auction is open now and closes February 28th at 1PM.
