September 6th marks six years without Hannah, today is a quiet reminder of how much we miss her and how deeply her impact continues to be felt every single day.

While loss changed our world, we’ve chosen to honor her memory through meaningful action. Through Inspired by Hannah, we remain dedicated to empowering young women, advocating for boat safety, and turning deep sorrow into lasting impact.

As you head out on the water this weekend, don’t forget to run through a U.S. Coast Guard pre-departure checklist prior to pushing off the dock and always check the tide before you ride!

📸 Boater Shoutout: If you have a Hannah’s Marine Awareness boat safety packet onboard, take a photo of it in your boat and DM it to us with your location! Seeing how many boaters are using these resources and staying safe truly keeps us going.

As Labor Day Saturday approaches, our family marks a painful milestone as we remember our precious Hannah and the tragic boating accident that ended her life.

We turn this difficult weekend into purpose by reminding everyone how essential water safety is.

To honor Hannah’s bright spirit, we ask everyone heading out on the water to make sure safety is a high priority. Review the tide charts before departing, and keep your eyes moving at all times, watching closely for other vessels, swimmers, hazards, and navigation markers.

STAY ALERT FOR HANNAH’S SAKE.

Today we celebrate our beautiful Hannah and what would have been her 29th birthday. Rarely does one look at a photo of Hannah without seeing the radiance she exudes. There is no doubt in our minds that she was a special gift from God, and her presence continues to shape our days in ways words can barely capture. 

We have kept her spirit alive through Inspired by Hannah, where we are able to lift young women and create the kind of impact she was striving to build. 

Hannah, you are tremendously missed and deeply loved. You will forever be a part of who we are. 🩷

Did you know May is boat safety month? To kick off Memorial Day weekend and the start of summer, we wanted to remind everyone that the U.S. Coast Guard requires all boaters to carry essential safety equipment for their vessel, including life jackets, visual distress signals, and sound‑producing devices. Even simple tools like a pair of paddles can be the difference between drifting into a current and reaching shore safely.

While dining at Bridges Restaurant on Kent Island after sharing resources at the Bay Bridge Boat Show, we watched two resourceful young women paddling to shore. Without their oars, they could have been swept into the Chesapeake Bay’s strong, unpredictable current.

At Inspired by Hannah, we admire independent, capable women who work together with determination. Chloe and Kayla’s goal that day was very clear: get themselves and their boat safely to shore.

Chloe and Kayla have been piloting boats on the Chesapeake Bay for several years. Their safety advice for fellow boaters is to always be sure to do a full safety check before leaving the marina. Plan back ups for back ups and always have a plan for what could possibly happen when on the water! We hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend!
