Just in time for Easter, two first grade classes at Dearing Elementary got to learn all about eggs and chicks over the past few days!

Students got to compare two different books - one fiction, and one non fiction books about eggs and chocks. The first book - Hatching Chicks in Room 6 taught these eager learners all about the parts of an egg and how chicks develop and hatch. Next, they heard the story, Pick a Perfect Egg. The students learned so much, and were even treated with a "special" egg of their own to "hatch!"

It is amazing how much these little ones absorb when ag is brought into the classroom.

Thank you to Melanie Blakey Stitcher and Taylor Johnson for the invitation! I cant wait to visit and learn with your students again soon!

The GFB Women in Ag Summit in Savannah was a wonderful time of learning and networking! This year, McDuffie County Farm Bureau sent four representatives ro the conference. Over the two day event, we visited the UGA Marine Education Center, worked on service projects for both the Ronald McDonald House and Over the Moon Diaper and Period Product bank, attended piwerful breakout sessions and heard an inspiring keynote address from the Fancy Lady Cowgirl Courtenay Dehoff. Best of all we were able to connect and networking with fellow women who are passionate about agriculture.
