Join us for a presentation on Thursday, July 16th at 6:00 with Thompson Historical Society about unusual tales from the Revolutionary War!

For our nation's 250th anniversary, let's remember the eastern Connecticut volunteers who camped on Thompson Common on their way to Boston to fight in the battle of Bunker Hill. Some years ago, the Historical Societies of the towns through which they marched staged a reenactment, including an overnight on Thompson Common and a Thompson Congregational Church service with speakers in historical attire. My family and I, along with other Thompson residents, walked the five miles with the re-enactors on back roads to our symbolic destination, the Massachusetts state line. It was extraordinary to think how far they walked to stand fast for our nation's desire for self determination.

Another huge shout out to Jeff Page of Page's Tree Service and Bruno Dube for donating their time and expertise in making our tree on the Thompson Common look beautiful for the holidays. You will see Jeff in the bucket at the top of the tree and Bruno on the lower right carefully getting the lights ready and helping Jeff with the placement from the ground. It is a group effort for sure and we love working with these two men! Thank you Jeff and Bruno!!
