May is National Historic Preservation Month! Every year in May, local preservation groups, state historical societies, and business and civic organizations across the country celebrate Preservation Month through events that promote historic places and heritage tourism, and that demonstrate the social and economic benefits of historic preservation.

Preservation Month began as National Preservation Week in 1973. In 2005, the National Trust extended the celebration to the entire month of May and declared it Preservation Month to provide an even greater opportunity to celebrate the diverse and unique heritage of our country’s cities and states.

🥕WE'RE OFFICIALLY ONE WEEK FROM OPENING DAY AT THOMASVILLE FARMERS MARKET...and the excitement is real!

After a long winter break, it’s almost time to gather again — fresh produce, local vendors, familiar faces, and that Saturday morning rhythm we’ve all been missing. There’s just something special about the start of market season… it feels like a fresh beginning.

Our vendors have been working behind the scenes getting everything ready, and we cannot wait for you to see what they’re bringing this year. Whether you come for the produce, the plants, the baked goods, or just the community, we’re counting down the days until we’re all back together again.

🌽Eat the Rainbow is back at Thomasville Farmers Market! Starting May 2, kids can join the fun each Saturday — now with Rainbow Bucks increasing from $3 to $5 per visit!

- $5 to spend on fresh fruits and veggies
- A passport to track their market adventures
- Simple, fun activities each week

This is a great hands-on way to help kids try new foods and connect with local farmers!

🍅SNAP: not only will we be accepting SNAP benefits again this season, but we’ll be offering Double Up Food Bucks—so you can stretch your dollars and take home even more fresh, local goodness. This means that for every dollar you spend on eligible produce using your EBT card, you receive an additional dollar to spend on fruits and vegetables, effectively doubling your purchasing power. We believe everyone should have access to fresh food, and we’re so glad to be a part of making that happen.

Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and get ready — we can't wait to see you bright and early on May 2!
