Congratulations to our new Executive Director!

GREA Announces a New Leader

The GREA Governing Board is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Johnny Smith as the new GREA Executive Director effective October 1st, 2025. In a unanimous decision of the 24 member GREA Governing Board on May 8th, 2025, Mr. Smith was approved to take over the leadership role for GREA. He has been the Director of Communications for GREA for the past 6 years and is extremely qualified for the position to lead GREA into a bright future.

Mr. Smith will be replacing the retiring GREA Executive Director, Dr. Bill Sloan, who is retiring after serving in the position for 20 years. The GREA Governing Board, staff and all members look forward to working with him. GREA is fortunate to have a replacement of his caliber. Welcome Mr. Smith!

Your January TRS check stub is available online if you have a myTRS account. You should check to make sure your insurance premium was properly deducted. It will be $20 for Anthem or $82.59 for UHC for single coverage Medicare Advantage plans. If you are under 65 or are also paying for a spouse, your premiums will be different. You do NOT want to lose your insurance due to the premium not being deducted. Contact SHBP immediately if your premium is not being deducted.

On Thursday, December 12, TTCREA members braved the chilly weather to help bring Christmas cheer to children and families in our local community by partnering with the Salvation Army as kettle bell ringers.
