Gaston Community Action Inc. (GCA) is seeking an experienced, mission-driven leader to serve as Head Start Director!
This is an opportunity to lead a program that makes a lasting difference in the lives of children and families across Gaston and Lincoln counties.
The Head Start Director will oversee program operations, lead and support staff, ensure regulatory compliance, manage budgets and grants, and strengthen partnerships with families and community organizations.
Qualified candidates should have:
✅ Experience in Head Start administration
✅ At least 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Head Start or early childhood education
✅ At least 5 years of fiscal management and administration experience
✅ Strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
✅ A North Carolina Child Care Licensing Administrator credential (NCECAC Level I or equivalent)
A master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Public Administration or a related field is preferred. Spanish language proficiency is also a plus.
