🔥 EXTREME HEAT ALERT – COOLING STATION OPEN 🔥
Thomas County CARES will be open Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM this week due to the dangerous heat index levels in our area.

Our doors are open to anyone in need of a cool, safe place — not only our unsheltered neighbors, but anyone without adequate air conditioning.

📍 Location: The Mission House on Madison Street, directly across from Dollar General.

Thomas County CARES is launching our Semi Annual Gifting Campaign to support our unsheltered neighbors and families facing food insecurity as we move into the cooler months ahead.
Every single day, CARES provides:
Pantry support
Hot meals and to go food for our unsheltered
transportation to treatment for crisis, mental health and substance misuse recovery
Clothing for those in need
Immediate help for individuals in crisis
ID cards and documentation for employment
Directional support to local resources
Compassionate, trauma informed care
And here’s the most important part — CARES is 100% volunteer run. Your donations don’t pay salaries. They provide direct services to people in need. All donations are tax deductible!!
