Greater Vision Outreach Ministry The Bob and Carolyn Tucker Greater Vision Outreach Ministry offers a variety of resources to North Carolina families in need of support and stability.

Greater Vision Outreach is a self-sufficiency program which offers food and clothing distribution, health and education programs, and referrals to help families achieve the goal of being self-sufficient. Headquartered at Baptist Children's Homes of North Carolina's (B*H) Mills Home campus in Thomasville, Greater Vision will provide a statewide outreach to strengthen families and encourage spiritual growth. Greater Vision offers a variety of services including food and clothing distribution, education programs, and referral and preventive services. The lead gift to start the new outreach was given by Bob and Carolyn Tucker, founders of Shoe Show, Inc. Partnering with local faith and community-based organizations are vital to helping families overcome challenges. Through Greater Vision, nonprofits will be able to network with each other, share resources and benefit from education opportunities.

Greater Vision in Thomasville and Kinston is where donations come in to support our residential campuses, foster families, and vulnerable families across our communities. When people ask what to bring, this is the list we point to:

New underwear, from little kids through adult sizes (some teens wear adult sizes)
Deodorant, men’s and women’s
Pull-ups, sizes 5 to 7
Wipes
Young men’s clothing
Men’s shoes, sizes 4 to 9
Individually wrapped snacks like Pop-Tarts, cracker packs, chips, and granola bars

Thank you, Blue Cross NC Foundation! 💙

A grant from the Foundation has already made a big difference at Greater Vision Outreach Ministry! With it, we were able to purchase a walkie stacker and an electric pallet jack for our warehouse.

The walkie stacker lets our team safely store inventory on the upper levels of our racks, giving us more space as we move the food locker to Greater Vision. The electric pallet jack makes moving heavy pallets easier and safer for our staff and volunteers.

These new tools are helping us work more safely and efficiently so we can better serve our community. We're so grateful for the Foundation's support! 🙌

This fall, we have a couple easy ways for anyone in the community to get involved, with locations across the state so there's likely one near you:

Seeing Through His Eyes — a trauma training that helps you better understand how trauma shows up in the people you already know: a student in your classroom, a neighbor down the street, a face in the pew next to you. Offered at three locations this fall.
Friends of Children — a hands-on serving opportunity right on our campuses, helping further the mission of B*H in practical, everyday ways. Offered at five locations this fall.

Both are completely free and open to anyone — no application, no commitment, no experience needed. Just register and show up!
