We're kicking off 2022 with the first Red Hills Grits shoot of the year on Jan. 16th at 3:00 PM at the Ranges at Oakfield, 245 County Farm Rd, Thomasville, GA 31757. There will be free lessons for anyone who wants one, and Kevin's will be supplying 20 gauge shotguns for the people who need them. More experienced shooters can break off and shoot on their own. You can bring ammo or buy some in the pro shop there. All levels of shooters are welcome. Feel free to bring a friend. Just to make sure we have enough loaner guns and refreshments it would be helpful if you can RSVP to Kathleen Kelly at [email protected] We're looking forward to seeing you there.

Mark your calendars for Dec. 19th for the monthly GRITS shoot at the Ranges at Oakfield in Thomasville, GA starting at 3:00. Free lessons for anyone who wants to participate on one of the s***t fields. More experienced shooters can head to the 5 stand. Given the Christmas crush, Kathleen and Kevin Kelly of Kevin's won't be in attendance so no loaner guns for this get-together. The Ranges at Oakfield is located at 245 County Farm Rd., Thomasville, GA 31757. Refreshments will be served after shooting. What great advice for all our lady shooters, feel free to come set up your own private shooting experience or join us at our monthly event.

Caution ladies: If your husband or boyfriend hands you one of his old shotguns for a round of clays shooting, say “Thanks but no thanks.” Anecdotal evidence points to the above situation as a sure-fire way for a woman to never pick up a shotgun for the rest of her...

Friendly reminder that the next Red Hills Grits shoot is 11/21 at 3:00 at the Ranges at Oakfield, 245 County Farm Rd, Thomasville, GA 31757. All levels of experience are welcome. Shotguns provided by Kevin's, free lessons by Shotgun Life publisher, Irwin Greenstein. Seasoned shooters can have their hand at the 5 stand. You'll have to provide your own ammo, which is sold there. Refreshments afterwards. If you're planning to come, please email Kathleen Kelly at [email protected] to help us out with the head count. Dear GRITS,

Next Saturday, November 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Syren USA will be at the Ranges at Oakfield with demo guns for members of GRITS to try out. Syren is the world’s only full line of shotguns created for female shooters, and they are extremely popular at Kevin’s. I have not shot one before, so I look forward to trying them out, and hope you will join me.

We are excited that our monthly GRITS gathering is happening Sunday, November 21, at the Ranges at Oakfield, so please mark your calendar because we’d love to see you and hopefully, we’ll get a cool day of fall weather. There will be loaner shotguns provided by Kevin’s, should you need a gun. Additionally, for those of you who are beginners, there will be instruction. For those of you who just want to shoot, there will be shooting for all levels. Please email me if you can provide water bottles and/or a simple snack, as there is a chance that I will not be able to attend.

We look forward to seeing you and hope you can join us. Please RSVP to this email or text me at 850-528-5152 if you plan to attend, so we can plan better. If you can’t RSVP, please join us anyway. If it’s your first time at the Ranges at Oakfield, please visit their website, review the safety video, and complete the form prior to Sunday. Make sure you visit the 26th annual Thomasville Wildlife Arts Festival Nov. 11-21 that celebrates Thomasville's sporting culture of quail hunting, bird dogs, art and food. Fantastic time on Sun. 10/17/21 at the Red Hills GRITS chapter shoot at the Ranges at Oakfield in Thomasville, GA. Most of the ladies shot 5 stand while a few took free lessons on shooting a report pair on the s***t field. Much thanks to Kathleen and Kevin Kelly of Kevin's Fine Outdoor Gear & Apparel and Catalog in historic downtown Thomasville for refreshments, loaner guns and ongoing commitment to women in the shotgun sports. Our next shoot is 11/21 at our home base at the Ranges at Oakfield. And thanks to the chapters other sponsors The Ranges at Oakfield and Shotgun Life.
