This will be a busy end of the month for Thomasville Lions Club. Saturday the 24 several of our Lions will be attending the District Council meeting and others will doing eye screenings at Memorial UMC and at the Boo Bash in Walburg. Since July 1st we have had 12 events where we screened for vision deficit in children and adults for a total of 482 served.
Today’s meeting was interesting with Rev Chris Clontz and Felicia Moysinger speaking about their Light Up the Night event for persons with special needs at Mt Pleasant Church. They have food, dancing, karaoke, rides in special cars and generally lots of love and support for these folks. Thanks for all you do and sharing it with us.

Yesterday we had our monthly board meeting for Thomasville Lions Club. Reports given for our recent eye screenings-at Everybody’s Day we screened 58 people and referred 23 for follow up, we did 34 screenings in Denton with only one referral and last night there was another screening at the Safety Fest. Well done Lions!
Our next big event is the Embers on December 6th! They always do a great show and gets everyone ready for the holidays. Get your tickets for $20 from a Lion or at Pinnacle Bank.

October 3 is the 88th anniversary of the Thomasville Lions Club. Our President Lion David Smoot gave a wonderful history of the club and the projects we have done, our involvement in Camp Dogwood, many eye screenings, being at Everybody’s Day to do eye screenings and talk about Lions and sell our wonderful broom. We are now preparing for our big fundraiser of the Embers December 6. If you want tickets ask any Lion and we will set you up

A great speaker at Thomasville Lions Club today. Hunter Thrift is the Executive Director of Community in Schools of Thomasville and is a member of Thomasville City Council. He updated us on all the CIS does for our students-weekend back packs, food pantry, incentives to keep kids in school and learning. They do events to support the entire school, small groups and one on one support. They work closely with seniors to make sure they are ready for their next steps. Thanks for all you do! Some announcements for today-we will be at Everybody’s Day onSeptember 26th to handout information about Lions and to do eye screening -1st Missionary Baptist Church is doing a fun community day from 1-3 on September 19th. There will be games, bounce houses and food

We had a special visitor today at Thomasville Lions Club: Sandy Frazier-Thomasville our District Governor. She has been a Lion since 2012 and has held many positions in Lions Club. Her theme is Rooted in Service and designed patches for Membership and Service to be awarded to those who meet certain criteria.
She also presented Lion Charlie Hall his 35 Chevron for his years of service. Thanks for joining us today.

Another informative meeting at Thomasville Lions Club. It was a board meeting day but we also had guests from Greater Visions at Baptist Children Home. Audrey Brock and Charlotte Edward spoke about what they provide for the community in food, clothing, household goods and financial tools. A great service to our community! We had a great speaker at Thomasville Lions Club today. Tony Prince serves at the Executive Director of Home Solutions of Davidson County, a nonprofit committed to helping individuals and families achieve and maintain homeownership. They offer budget counseling, credit counseling, rental counseling and foreclosure prevention. They also assist thru affordable housing development, urgent home repairs, down payment assistance, financial literacy and homeownership counseling. Home Solutions is a wonderful asset for Davidson County.
